Coding for Kids Webmix
One of my favorite web tools is Symbaloo. On my home computer, I have Symbaloo set as my homepage. With Symbaloo, I can reach all of my most-used websites with a single click. It keeps these websites organized and accessible on all of my different devices (personal computer, school computer, iPhone). Before last weekend, I had created three Symbaloo "webmixes": EdTech Students, EdTech Teachers, and Personal Links. Each webmix contains icons (links) for websites that are appropriate for each topic. After attending EdCampKS 2014 and learning about several websites to help kids learn how to code, I put together a new webmix to organize these "Coding for Kids" websites (and many others that people recommended). I have included the webmix below. Each icon is linked to a website. I have not fully investigated all of the included websites, but all of them are recommended by educators. Shout out to @BrendaHauff for leading the Coding session and sharing her resources at EdCampKS!
I'd love to hear your feedback about the webmix. Please email or tweet me if you have any questions or comments!
I hope you find it useful!
